Shortlist Price Index MCP
Give your AI agent current software pricing data. This server exposes the Shortlist Price Index: entry prices (lowest paid plan per provider) and the true 3-year cost, compiled from each provider's public pricing page, republished monthly since June 2026 and published as open data under CC BY 4.0 by Orai Media. 12 categories are current today.
Endpoint
https://shortlist-mcp.vercel.app/mcpTransport: streamable HTTP. No authentication, no rate card, free to use.
Tools
- list_categories: the current categories with slugs, units and the date of the latest update
- get_price_index: full index for a category (average, median, cheapest, every provider, monthly history, methodology)
- get_true_3yr_cost: year 1 at the intro price, years 2 and 3 at renewal, ranked by the real total (web hosting and antivirus)
- get_cheapest: the N cheapest providers in a category right now

A category whose latest index is older than 35 days is withheld until its next verified refresh, so no outdated price is quoted.
